Peter H. Wedderburn

Fiction Writer

A picture of the author, smiling.

Peter is a long time writer, but Piscium is his first published book. Over a varied career, writing has always played an important part in his life, starting with Biro scribbled stories in exercise books while at Enfield Grammar School. At Middlesex University he took a degree in Humanities, majoring in English and Psychology, before going on to edit the student union magazine.  His subsequent career spanned twenty years in magazine publishing, before starting an events company serving the publishing sector.

Peter has always enjoyed active and adventure sports including rock climbing, mountaineering, sailing and windsurfing, but his main love has been distance running. In 2012 he brought this sport into his company and launched a series of highly successful mass participation running events. In 2023 He decided to retire from full time race management, although he is still involved with both commercial and charity event organisation. “It was the right move",” Peter says, “it created the space I needed to complete my first novel”

Peter remains a keen runner and serves on the committee of The Stragglers Running Club. He has run 27 marathons, over 600 parkruns, and many other distance races.

He is married to Stella and has three grown up children, Alex, Victoria and Olivia, Now with reduced work pressure he is able to devote more time to writing.

Wherever I go I find stories waiting to be told. People in the street inspire curiosity. Where are they going? What are they thinking? And then there is always the what if. Writing is my way of exploring the ideas that spring to mind.

Piscium is Peter’s first completed novel and is now available in e book format on Amazon. A paper back edition will published in early September 2025.

Piscium

A new novel from Peter H. Wedderburn

' So, what do you want to call the fish,'  Mike Phipps asked. 'Now we have created them they must have a name.

I've been giving that some thought', Rothstone replied. We will name them Piscium. That's pronounced Pi-see-um, like in Pisces. Piscium is the brightest star in the Pisces constellation, the lucky star I was born under. And of course, Pisces is the star sign of the fish.'

Book cover titled "Piscium" by Peter H. Wedderburn, featuring dark water stained with red blood and a fishing hook hanging from a line, accompanied by the quote "Ambition can turn dreams into reality, but beware of your creation."
